The standard gauge railroad tunnel Karawanken connects Austria with Slovenia. After more than 100 years of operation, the safety standards needed to be revamped. In the process, the existing masonry vault was partially renovated using shotcrete construction methods. Additional technical rooms for monitoring the train operation were excavated. Drainage and cable troughs were re-laid. Our employees carried out the excavation and all renovation work described above in a professional manner.
